Our physicians, fellows, residents and students practice state-of-the-art medicine at the following hospitals and health facilities:

Parathyroid and Thyroid Disease

Our expertly trained physicians specialize in the management of benign and malignant thyroid disorders with expertise in minimally invasive video assisted thyroid surgery and office ultrasound.  Patients can undergo ultrasound for diagnosis of their thyroid problem at the first office visit.  If necessary, ultrasound guided biopsy can also be performed at initial evaluation.  For patients who require surgery, minimally invasive techniques have progressed such that many patients are eligible for surgery through an incision of about one inch, often as an outpatient. Diagnosis and medical or surgery treatments are available for all types of thyroid problems including nodules or cancer, goiter (enlarged thyroid), hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid such as from Graves or toxic nodules), and hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid such as from thyroiditis).

We also specialize in minimally invasive video assisted parathyroid surgery and office based ultrasound.  Office ultrasound can localize parathyroid adenomas in 90% of patients with primary hyperparathyroidism and hypercalcemia at their initial visit. Minimally invasive parathyroid surgery techniques have progressed to outpatient surgery for almost all patients with 97-98% cure rates equal to traditional surgery but with minimal pain and quicker recovery.
