What do I need to do first?
When you visit University Hearing Aid Associates, you will be given a thorough hearing evaluation by one of our audiologists.  This examination will reveal the type and degree of your loss and will determine whether or not you are a candidate for hearing aid(s).  Before purchasing hearing instruments, you are encouraged to have a medical examination by an ENT physician.  If we find that you have ear medical problems, we can offer express access to our ENT physicians at (513) 475-8400.  If you choose not to see a physician, you may sign a waiver.

Hearing Aid Evaluation Appointment
The evaluation is a one hour appointment where the audiologists will explain your hearing loss and discuss your hearing needs and concerns.  This information will determine the size and type of hearing aid(s) that will help you most.  We offer a variety of hearing instruments that range in technology and size (the two aspects that determine the cost of the instruments).  Prices typically range from $900 to $2700 for one hearing aid.  We will work with you to find the instruments that best suit your needs, preferences and budget.  If you are a hearing aid candidate, you will be provided with a quotation for the hearing instruments and associated costs.  You will also be given a copy of your audiogram at your request.
There is a $30.00 charge for the initial consultation appointment.

Hearing Aid Fitting Appointment
During this one hour appointment, the audiologist will go over the use and care of your new instruments.  You will receive a 30-day trial period to test the instruments in your own environments.  During this time, some fine tuning adjustments may be needed and follow-up appointments will be scheduled.
If you are dissatisfied with your hearing instruments, you may return them at any time during this 30-day time frame.  You may then choose to try other instruments or to claim a refund of all costs except the hearing evaluation, ear mold and a modest fee for the use of the instruments.
