The Cincinnati Center for Auditory Processing and Language Disorders

The Cincinnati Center for Auditory Processing and Language Disorders is located in  the University of Cincinnati Academic Health Center Division of Audiology.

Licensed and board-certified audiologists evaluate children and adults for central auditory processing disorders (CAPD). We believe CAPD usually represents a multi-factored problem requiring interdisciplinary evaluation.

Our virtual center includes audiologists, speech language pathologists, psychologists, physicians and professional staff.

Other team members may include private practitioners or school system professionals already involved in caring for the referred child.

If no services have been provided, we can arrange testing through a wide network of individuals and agencies. We also work closely with the Communication Sciences and Disorders Program in the College of Allied Health Sciences, which provides speech language evaluations.

When referrals are received from other professionals or agencies, our communication will always be with the referral source.

Individuals or referring professionals interested in an evaluation may contact Kathy Deters at (513) 558-4863.

We will discuss your specific questions with you before scheduling an appointment. In some cases, we will ask you to complete an intake questionnaire to help us to determine the appropriateness of the referral and to plan our evaluation.
