Welcome to the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Cincinnati Academic Health Center. We are committed to 1) providing the highest level of training to residents, fellows and medical students; 2) offering the highest quality clinical care to our patients; 3) serving as resource to the medical community and 4) expanding scientific frontiers of the specialty through clinical and basic research.

Otolaryngology, as a specialty, at the University of Cincinnati Academic Health Center is heralded as one of the premier ear, nose and throat programs in the country.

Recognized by US News and World Report, America's Top Doctors and Best Doctors in America, the twenty physicians associated with the academic department are all full-time faculty of the College of Medicine and are recognized leaders in the field.

The program and its specialists serve, not only the citizens and physicians of the greater Cincinnati community, but draw patients regionally, nationally and internationally:

  • Specializes in disorders and tumors of the head and neck, skull base, ear disease and related disorders, pediatric otolaryngology, trauma, facial plastic and reconstructive surgery, taste and smell disorders, nasal allergy and sinus disease and voice diagnostics and rehabilitation.
  • Internationally renowned pediatric otolaryngology program responsible for the development and advancement of childhood airway constructions. 
  • Widely recognized for its advanced techniques in skull base surgery, including lateral skull base, temporal bone, anterior skull base and frameless stereotactic CT image guided surgical procedures.
  • Nationally acknowledged researchers in the fields of head and neck cancer, hearing loss, voice and pediatric airway disorders.
  • Offers specialty centers for the diagnosis and management of balance, taste and smell and voice disorders.
  • Maxillofacial prosthetic laboratory for the prosthetic rehabilitation of the post-surgical and post-traumatic patient.
  • Provides Tinnitus and Meniere's community support groups and outreach programs.
  • Strong community ties including The Facial Foundation to help individuals who have suffered facial deformities as a result of domestic or criminal violence, accidents or other injuries.
  • Thirteen physicians included in the most recent edition of Best Doctors in America.
